This week marks the beginning of the spring season. I know the water isn't rowable yet and we're still waiting for a few new boats, but the water season is here.
No more erg tests, unless the guys do something really stupid.
I'll be away this week and I'm hoping that might be a good thing. I've mentioned before how to imagine a great day on the water with the boat moving under the rowers. I hope these days in the tanks will be profitable in mental and technical preparation. A new voice looking at the guys in the tanks could help quite a bit.
We didn't have access to the tanks last year. I'm hoping this spring will help. Getting as much of the drills and technical work out of the way as we can leaves more time for seat racing. That's a good thing, as some boats (varsity 4+, light 4+) are going to require a process best described as Darwinian.
Guys, if you've got any ideas of drills that you would like to do this week, post here and I'll try to get them included. You'll get bored of the tanks soon enough and anything to liven things up a little always helps a practice go by.

I’d like to work on keeping our back straight and making sure some of us aren’t over reaching or under-reaching anything that contributes to back pain.....that seems to be a recurring theme for us....I also think that maybe roll-up drills couldn't hurt to work on...if anyone agrees please comment...it could just be me?
I think it was really good having the video camera there last time. I will bring my camera on tues. and if you guys like it I can keep bringing it (we can also make some fun videos later (phil)). Well anyways I second steves idea and I like the judges! (HAHA) OK see you guys tomarrow!

Guys:
I took a few comments off for the following reasons:
1) We're trying to recruit a female coxswain. Generally those comments belong in your locker room and not the blog.
2) Your parents read this.
3) Minors are afforded more privacy in a public forum in the realm of law enforcement.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way,
Poland: Yes it's funny. It also removes a subject for debate. Now we know we need two more, not possibly one.
Steve: I suggest a performance by you guys for the P/R girls. It might make a great fundraiser and get you all some dates. Just make sure not to use the tank water, it doesn't make good aftershave.
What do you mean by "a performance?"
Man, I wonder what all those deleted comments said...I didn't get to read those...
"Performance?" Jay, I thought this was supposed to be appropriate.
