Well, I don't know everyone who is reading this, but it is a blog about my coaching experiences and thoughts, so I won't censor myself.
I've got a problem brewing in the camp. Not too big, but a touchy issue that could be "politically" very damaging.
If I put a top 4 together, it would be 4 FC guys. By any obvious measure or observation, that would be my top 4. This situation speaks well for my own coaching during the year at FC. It speaks poorly about participation in my camp. Some teams are holding their own summer programs rather than have their kids row at TRRA.
This situation also puts me in an difficult spot. If I put out that "top" 4 with 4 FC guys, any other rower could easily accuse me of favoritism. "There's the FC coach, using the TRRA camp for his own purposes." If I don't put that boat together, I'm a fool and untrue to my own principles. I suppose that last line shows what I'm going to do.

Jay, do what's best for the TEAM! Yes, it does reflect well on both you and the top 4 rowers. Forget what others will think and go with your gut. I grew my hair out, at first, not caring what people would think. Now its your turn. By putting up a good fight with the top 4, it will just reenforce everyones fear of FC.
Perhaps you should let some of the other team rowers know about the blog jay?
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers
Maybe you should consider another seat racing day to make yourself seem more just. I'm not saying I want one, but that will help others from thinking you had a bias.
I second that opinion.
I second that.
