I know it’s been a while for me but as Jay can attest our time has been taken up by highly important activities such as Sensitivity Training and Session on how to commutate with our crews. I guess this is my attempt to communicate with you apes, only thing is I don’t know how many of you can read, but I guess it’s worth a try. I guess I should start where I left off. Nationals, very solid performance by both the men and woman. This was our first year our club truly had a presence at this race. Last year it was more of an afterthought we strapped a boat to a jeep and went. This year it was an event. I was filled with pride as Jay and I stood on our infamous point and could hear “We are F C” above all else. After our double had landed, I had to opportunity to go out and witness the reminder of the races. As amazing as that experience was it accomplished one and only one thing, its time to bring an eight. Seeing the men’s V8 race from start to finish was unbelievable, seeing Ignatius storming back in the final 500 then cross the line knowing they had just won the national championship made me hungry. Well enough of that, I think I have sufficiently made my point. I want to be there next year 18 strong.
As many of you are aware the summer program is in full swing, and running well. We have about 10 guys 5 of them from FC. Seems I can get away from you guys. And every one is showing great improvement. In the past two weeks Tosh went from getting pulled around by Shay, to rowing stroke for stroke with McCarthy. For any one that hasn’t come down think about it. There is another session that starts one July 5. I would love to see 5 or 6 more guys come out for the next session. Plus if you come for the next session you get to go to two races. If your not interested in the camp my offer of taking any one that wants to at any time still stands. Just some food for though, Central is holding their own camp and 15 of their guys are doing it…..
Finally the two issues that I have been pushing for about three months now. Recruiting and Money. What are you thoughts on either? Any progress? If not lets try to do something. Aaron has contacted WinTech and managed to get a grand from them. Great start but were about 14,000 from a new boat. Recruiting keep on it, mention it to every under classmen you know. Bring them down to a summer practice. Let’s get a head start on our competition. 16 novices is no longer a hope it’s a requirement. This job lies strictly on your shoulders. Now that I have all that off my chest, it’s about my bed time considering I have to get up at 6:50 and go pretend I know something about Rowing. But hey their paying me.

Jesse, in my eyes you are the one of two coaches that not only do I have to pay attention to, but I take what you say sincerely. Don't even try to say you know nothing about rowing. Oh, and just to let everyone know Shay pulled me around in a pair then Steven pulled me around in a pair. Seems to me like all I ever do is get pulled.

Great, now he's calling us apes too. Jesse I would love to get down there sometime over a weekend and row. I've been getting up at 6:00 every morning to go to work so I've got you beat my man. I would really love to learn how to scull though, so perhaps one weekend a few people would like to come down and row some doubles, or a 4 or whatever. I need to do it. Haha thanks.
Yeah, Jesse and I are planning on making a wicked awsome double to race at nationals...where do I think of these things. But yeah, if you ever want to row a double just for shits and giggles, I'd be up to it.

If we seriously want to beat Central next year, you guys are going to have to start rowing. Get some boats together, Jesse will take you out. Central is going to be beastly next year. Their four made an excellent showing at Independence Day Regatta by qualifying for the final.
drew, for the idea about rowing or learning to scull, on thursday the 11th, it is an open row, so if you want to, ill meet you down there and we can take out a double, or we can take out the singles.
