Poker

By this time, everybody knows I enjoy playing poker. Beyond the competitive aspect which appeals to any rower, this game is a great way to chaperone the kids on a trip. Plenty of kids gather around to watch the game, which usually takes everyone to "lights out" time. Great way to keep everyone where I can see them. Great way to spend some "non-rowing" time with the kids.

Bad idea if you don't like somebody in the game.

I made a basic poker mistake the other night in Indianapolis. I let my emotions get the better of my logic, and I lost. Such things happen. However, some of the rowers let the same thing happen to them. Let's just say the outcome wasn't what any of us wanted.

It's much better to play with people whose company you enjoy. That way, there's never any hard feelings when you win or lose.

Jay, that's why I love boxing. It's a fun, enjoyable game that can also take a while and many people gather around to watch it. Plus, if you are doing it with someone you don't like, it makes it all the more fun. Then at the end, both of you are too beat up to realize why you were mad at eachother in the first place. And it's usually very safe and can be controlled well. (Headgear, mouthguards, etc.) I think you should take up boxing Jay.

Jay, I'll take you.

Jay, did this happen in the same game when the praised flush 4 popped up?

Aaron, your new name is "4 Card Flush." You will be expected to post under that and answer to it.
After all, you're a rower now too, right?

Muahaha.

What can I say, I'm kind of a big deal!

I, as Vice President of the Rob Quinn Club of America, forbid you to ever say that again. You are not a big deal, nor kind of a big deal. You are "almost kind of a medium deal."

Give me a break. I just heard that joke. I don't know how much other people have been using it. I haven't been living and breathing rowing all summer, remember?

Speaking of which, I like the time off, but it's been so long now I'm starting to get a little antsy about fall season.

btw, I'm not 'joke assassin'. I only post under this name.

I had a short lived screen name as jokeassasin(misspelled) when i habitually killed jokes. Now its just a part time thing(open to dispute)
