Update

Just to keep everyone informed. CT scan results came back; the cancer has spread to one of my lymph nodes. This means that post op I will need to continue with radiation, chemo, or another surgery. But doctor says to still stay positive. Thank you to every one who has expressed their sympathies, it’s comforting to know so many people care.

Jesse, Max and myself both went through a similar situation this summer with our dad. So, if you need to talk to either of us about anything we're here and we're thinking about you.

Jesse,

I have known you for the past three years, and during those years I have done nothing but idolize and respect you not only as a rower, but as a person and friend. I'm not gonna lie, I was scared to tears when you announced this at practice today. I would just like you to know that my thoughts and prayers go out to you. You'll get through this. I know that we all are with you.

Jesse-
When Jay told me, I went into complete shock. I've had the upmost respect for you since I met you my freshman year. You've showed how to cox and now row. We would never be the band of brothers without you and I'm always here for you.

Aaron

p.s. I went thought a similar thing with my mom 2 years ago

Jesse, Like Steve you have been a mentor and roll model for me since I've known you. I have no doubts you will over come this with as much dedication and strength, as you have towards life. You will be in my thoughts and all of my prayers.

Jess,

I must have looked at your post about 30 times tonight. Each time I read it, the whole thing feels surreal. Jay and I are both really shaken up. I can't even imagine how it must feel for you.

I did do a bunch of reading on related web sites, and the prognosis looks really good for you.

Jesse,
I know you will get through this fine and come out even stronger than before. I had some big things go wrong with me too and i know how it feels. If you want to talk you know where to find me. You must always remember, heroes are people that can fall and then rise higher than ever before.

Jesse-
The only thing that I can say that hasn't already been said is that you are the toughest guy I've ever met and I have no doubt whatsoever that you are going to kick this thing's ass.
No worries dude, nothing is gonna bring you down. I speak for everyone (again) when I say we're here for you.

Jesse,
We're all here. Anything you need anything you want, Don't hesitate to ask. We're all thinking about you, and you're in all of our prayers.

Jesse, I think it's pretty obvious why you got cancer like you did. You've got bigger balls than all the rest of us put together, so it must have been only a matter of time before something happened.

Band of Brothers, mate, Band of Brothers. You're not just a coach to many of us. You're still and will always be one of us.

I know I shouldn't create trouble at a time like this, but Kirk, that was pretty out of line.

We're here for you Jesse

Ok, I apologize if anyone is offended my previous comment on this, but I was just trying to put a little bit of humor into a very serious situation. If "anonymous" has a personal problem with what I say about this post please take it up with me and not here. Not this time, please. Moving on...

In the one year we both rowed for FC, Jesse, I watched you push yourself harder than I thought anyone could even go time after time. When I was a novice, I always wanted to be more like Jesse Foglia. You were like a hero to us novii that year. Now the legend himself has come back to coach the next generation of FC rowers. You're more than just tough. You're a definition of it. You always supported us. Now it's our turn.
